Education is still the be-all and end-all

Martin Vasquez completed Bachelor's and Master’s degrees at the Theater Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, and earned his Ph.D. in Philosophy at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno.

He has completed a number of training courses and internships in public speaking in the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, and France, and now specializes in presentation, public speaking skills, persuasion, and improvisation.

Since 2003, over 20,000 participants from various companies have benefited from his individual mentoring, lectures, and training courses.

Participants included employees of Vodafone, Nestlé, Heineken, Škoda Auto, Lego, Česká Spořitelna Bank, and the Czech-Slovak Business Bank (ČSOB).

At home and abroad

Martin has led numerous seminars and workshops in Berlin, Oxford, Paris, Bratislava, Krakow, and Leipzig.

Over 20 years of regular public performances.

He hosts events at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, French Film Festival, London O2 Arena, and at Impact Hub Prague.

You may know him from theatre

In 2002, Martin together with his colleagues founded the Czech Improvisation League and the improvisational theater JUST! IMPRO.

In 2013, he founded the School of Improvisation, which has had over 500 graduates since. The topics covered in the curriculum can also be found in Martin’s books Be Masters of Improvisation and Training for Masters of Improvisation, published by Grada.

Today you can find him regularly performing at the Švanda Theater in Smíchov. Or if you’re lucky, at times you may see him at the stand-up comedy show Na Stojáka, or at Slam Poetry.

Startups and academia

Martin has been involved with the startup scene since 2016, preparing pitch decks and founder presentations for various occasions.

His startup clients have included Start it @ČSOB, Nakopni Prahu, Social Impact Award, Prague Innovation Institute, and Silnější hybatelé ČS.

He regularly lectures at academic institutions (namely at the University of Economics in Prague, the Faculty of Arts of Charles University, Metropolitan University Prague, and the University of Economics and Management).

Global TEDx Conferences

Martin has been preparing speakers as a coach and mentor for TEDx Prague for the past 8 years. These are international conferences where important ideas are shared, communities are built, and positive change is inspired.

He himself was a presenter there in the 2017 and 2019 editions.

As a coach and mentor, Martin prepares individuals from the corporate and business world for presentations and speeches at conferences and other high-stakes events.
